These independent tips are for people who use Toshiba office printers and multifunction devices, sold mainly under the e-STUDIO name. This site has no connection to Toshiba. Toshiba's office printing business is part of Toshiba Tec, and e-STUDIO devices are usually supplied and serviced by Toshiba or an authorized dealer under a service agreement. Toshiba Tec's official site links to regional sites for drivers and manuals.
Common problems with Toshiba printers
Service agreements and dealers
Most e-STUDIO devices are leased or covered by a service contract that includes repairs and often toner. Check the agreement and the contact details your organization was given before ordering supplies or requesting a repair. Note the model and serial number from the label on the device, as you'll need them for any service request.
Department codes and user login
Many e-STUDIO devices are set up so jobs need a department code or user login to print, and jobs without valid details may be held or discarded. In the driver's printing preferences, look for the department code or authentication settings and enter the details your administrator gave you.

Scan to email usually fails after the email provider changes its sign-in or security requirements, or a saved password expires. An administrator can check the device's email (SMTP) settings in its built-in web page and update the server, port and sign-in details to match your provider's current requirements.

Toshiba publishes model-specific drivers and universal drivers for e-STUDIO devices. If finishing options, trays or department code settings are missing, install the driver for your exact model from Toshiba's official regional site and turn on the installed options in the driver's properties.

e-STUDIO devices warn when toner is low and when the waste toner box needs replacing. Replace the item the message names with the part listed for your model, or check whether your service agreement covers supplies.

If an e-STUDIO device shows offline after a router or network change, its IP address has probably changed. Print a configuration or network page from the control panel to see the current address, then update the printer port or re-add the device on each computer.

- Type the device's IP address into a browser to open TopAccess, the built-in web page on e-STUDIO devices, for status, supplies and settings; some pages need an administrator login.
- Download drivers from the Toshiba site for your own region, because models and software can differ between regions.
- Check your lease or service agreement before buying toner or parts; supplies are often included.
- Print a configuration page to see the IP address, firmware version and installed options before you contact your dealer.

No. This is an independent help site with no connection to Toshiba or Toshiba Tec. For official drivers, manuals and support, use Toshiba's official site for your region.

If the device is leased or under a service agreement, contact the provider named in that agreement. Otherwise, use Toshiba's official regional site to find authorized service.
Why won’t my job print until I enter a code?
The device is set up with department codes or user authentication, which track usage and keep jobs from printing without valid details. Enter the code your administrator gave you in the driver settings.
