Common problems with Pantum printers
Installing the right driver
Your computer may not include a driver for your Pantum model, so download the package for your exact model and operating system from Pantum's official support site. Run the installer with the printer switched on and connected by USB or on the same network, as the installer asks. If installation fails, remove any older Pantum driver first and try again.

Depending on the model, Pantum printers use either a cartridge with the drum built in or a separate toner cartridge and drum unit. Check which your model uses in its manual before ordering supplies. On separate-drum models, a drum message won't clear by changing the toner; replace the drum unit the message names.

Pantum cartridges carry a chip that reports toner use, so a cartridge the printer doesn't recognize may not be seated properly, may not match your model or region, or may have a chip problem. Remove and reinstall it firmly, check that all packaging is removed, and confirm the cartridge code in the manual.

Pantum wireless models can usually join Wi-Fi through the driver installer, a WPS button or Pantum's mobile app, depending on the model. If the printer drops off the network, restart it and your router, reconnect it using the same method, then re-add it on your computer so it uses the current address.

Pale prints usually mean low toner; rocking the cartridge gently side to side can spread the remaining toner for a few more pages. A gray tint across the background, or repeating marks, more often points to a worn drum or a cartridge near the end of its life.

Small lasers jam more often with curled, damp or overfilled paper. Turn the printer off and let it cool, because the fuser gets hot, then remove jammed paper slowly in the direction it travels. Load paper below the tray's limit mark and adjust the guides to fit the stack.

- Note the full model number from the label on the printer before downloading drivers; similar-looking Pantum models can use different drivers and supplies.
- Print a configuration or information page from the printer (the method varies by model, so check the manual) to see its IP address and page counts.
- Type a network model's IP address into a browser to open its built-in web page for status and network settings.
- Keep a spare cartridge of the correct code on hand if you print regularly, since budget lasers often ship with a lower-capacity starter cartridge.
